I said “almost” because people in this part of the world seem to habitually build expensive homes in a way that ensures that they won’t exist long — in fire-prone canyons or near eroding cliffs, for example. And though it seems implausible that anyone would ever build a home with the intention of it teetering precariously and showoffishly, I suppose that it would probably happen in Los Angeles if it were to happen anywhere in the world.
