The Flaming Globes of Zigmund

Word of the day, courtesy of "zanjero," meaning "a person in charge of water distribution." As in, "Future water engineer William Mulholland got his start as a zanjero."

Word of the day, courtesy of the Java Jones on the corner of Figueroa and State: "limnovore," meaning "something that eats mud." Though, technically, the term applies to animals that feed on algae.

I have yet to decide which is better.

  1. I vote "zanjero." Mostly because it sounds prettier than "limnovore" and is a way cooler name for that job than, say, "Water Distribution Engineer."
