Of everything I’ve posted here this year, these are the ten most-read, according to Google Analytics, in order:
- Snow White and the Five Clones
- Super Mario, King of Japan
- Grant Wood and the American Erotic
- With “It” Being a Very David Lynchy Sense of Hollywood Tragedy
- The Cat Breed Whose Name Must Be Whispered
- With “It” Being an Appealingly Possum-Like Expression Conveying a History of Being Socially Downtrodden
- Hunger, Games
- Encyclopedia Drew and the Mysterious Table of Mystery
- This, I Guess, Is a Post About Angelina Jolie
- The First Name in Sideburns
But here, in order, is the same most-read-of-2012 list, according to a different stat counter:
- Snow White and the Five Clones
- Super Mario, King of Japan
- Grant Wood and the American Erotic
- With “It” Being a Very David Lynchy Sense of Hollywood Tragedy
- Encyclopedia Drew and the Mysterious Table of Mystery
- This, I Guess, Is a Post About Angelina Jolie
- A List of Lesser Lisbeth Salanders
- The Beeper King and His Imposter
- A Field Guide to Street Children
- Something Sweet, Something Pungent
How do we account for the differences in these rankings? Is Google Analytics just better? According to the systems, they should be measuring the data in the same way, unless I'm just completely misunderstanding the situation.
