Everything But Yul Brynner

Less than a full post deserving of song-of-the-week status, but interesting nonetheless: Did anyone else realize that the Murray Head who sings the 80s song “One Night in Bangkok” was sung by the actor Murray Head? As in “star of Sunday Bloody Sunday Murray Head? As in Murray Head, brother of Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Anthony Stewart Head?

Especially in light of the Robyn Lively-Blake Lively post from last night, I’m feeling like every time I look into a minor celebrity I find an unusual amount of connections with pop culture notes that I’m far more familiar with.

Just for funzies, you should rent a DVD called "Richard O'Brien's Rocky Horror Tribute," in which you will be dazzled by how fucking sexy Anthony Stuart Head is as Frank-N-Furter. Just a concert performance, but a really good one.

  2. I’ve seen ol’ Giles doing Frank-N-Furter, and he did indeed do a good job. Oddly, knowing that he’s the brother of Murray Head is more surprising.
