Miss Red Herring

Given the lack of Miss Klugh in tonight's episode of "Lost," I'll assume that the bullet she took to the chest in last week's installment was indeed fatal. The trouble with "Lost" is that I tend to question whether anybody is truly dead until they're in the ground.

Too bad — Miss Klugh was one of the only Others that interested me.

One puzzlement: I wonder if "Lost" producers considered the work history of April Grace — the woman who played Miss Klugh — as a factor in hiring her to the show. While "Lost" is often about how people's lives before they criss-crossed before they all wound up on an island together, Grace had previously played Gwenovier, the reporter who interview's Tom Cruise's character in "Magnolia," which was another work about how people can be oblivious to the way their lives intersect.
