Empress Esmeralda Espinoza

With all due respect to the great ruling legacies of India, I clicked on the link to this particular Wikipedia entry solely because the name amused me.
[ link: the Chola Dynasty ]
I'd like to imagine that the cholas ruled the southern Indian peninsula with the grace and dignity that they rule the make-up counter at the Rite-Aid in my hometown. To take the joke further, the cholas’ one-great empire crumbled only when. at the height of the empire’s wealth, their hoop earrings grew too large to support their necks and their bangs covered their eyes, disabling them from seeing the oncoming attacks by their successors, the Valley Girls.
