Little Missions

I understand little of how Google works. For example, I was surprised as anyone to find that my blog entry on names in Arrested Development was the number one hit for “Rita Leeds.” After all, Arrested had and still has a fervent fanbase and, as far as reoccurring characters on the show went, Rita was fairly prominent during her five-episode arc. What’s more, she was played by Charlize Theron, the most high-profile guest star to ever grace the show. So cool, right? A number one hit.

Weirdly, the search term “rita leeds” only turns my blog up at the top of the stack when it’s entered without quotes. When it’s searched with quotes, it shows up third.

I find this strange, since the quotes should only restrict entries, not change their worthiness of being a search result. Right? Can anyone explain this?
